Women’s Month in London unfolds across disciplines and neighbourhoods, through art, culture, music, literature, nightlife, film and comedy, each space offering its own interpretation of what it means to platform and champion women in 2026. The result is a layered cultural landscape consistently driven by women shaping the moment.
From community-led gatherings to clubs, here’s where Women’s Month is unfolding across the capital.
Sister Midnight: Holding Sound

Sister Midnight: Holding Sound is a four-part programme of archiving, listening, live performance, and DJ sets, exploring how women use sound to claim space, preserve memory, and build community. Within it, The Sound Archives panel discussion on women’s day turns attention toward preservation and legacy in music and culture. In an industry built on what’s next, the conversation deliberately slows down, asking the important questions of who gets documented, remembered and credited.
Wellcome Collection: International Women’s Day – Belief, Birth, Body

Wellcome Collection are hosting a day of activities exploring a range of themes relating to belief, birth and the body.
You’ll have the chance to take part in a creative workshop, join an object-handling session, look at copies of historical items from our collections, hear from a variety of speakers and attend guided tours of ‘Expecting: Birth, Belief and Protection’. Events range from creative collaging to exploring a collection of historical and medical objects relating to women’s health, gynecological health, reproductive health and birth.

WOW Foundation’s The Weight of Being exhibition, alongside the WOW 365: The Weight of It All online event leans into emotional labour, identity and visibility through installation and discussion. It invites audiences to consider what’s carried and what’s reclaimed.

Affordable Art Fair: International Women’s Day Exhibition

The Affordable Art Fair Battersea Spring edition places women artists firmly within the commercial art circuit, on the wall, in collections, and within the wider contemporary art conversation.

Queer Love Co’s Sapphic Mix & Mingle offers a relaxed, queer-centred space designed for connection over spectacle.
Chat in groups of six for 30 mins at a time, with half of the group switching tables for each round so you get to meet lots of people in a more relaxed way It’s the type of event where you can come alone, or bring along your queer friends! This event is trans and Non-Binary inclusive and welcomes anyone of any gender who sits somewhere under the sapphic umbrella.
The Albany: M Is For Menopause

M Is For Menopause is an exhibition by Abigail Hammond that reframes a life stage rarely foregrounded in cultural programming, giving it nuance and visibility. This exhibition features a diverse range of artwork, from abstract pieces to written word — some intense, others bold and entertaining.

On The Decks with Cleo is an event where DJ Cleo demonstrates her skills and teaches young women and girls (aged 10-16) how to DJ.
Aether: Spring Soirée

Aether Magazine’s Spring Soirée is a marketplace of exclusively womxn & non-binary creators, artists and makers. Expect handmade treasures, up-cycled, pre-loved and vintage fashion, as well as services like a nail bar and henna. The programme also consists of talks and workshops throughout the day, a 20% of all ticket moneys will go to women’s charities. What’s not to love!
The Engine Rooms: F The Patriarchy

The Little Violet Door: The International Women’s Day House Party

Last but not least, Gothic Literature: Women & The Female History of Horror by Seed Talks revisits the women who shaped the genre’s foundations. Join Dr Maisha Wester as she explores the connections between the Gothic and First-wave Feminism.
If March is an invitation, it’s also a reminder. A reminder that the work of platforming, funding, commissioning and championing women doesn’t begin and end with a themed calendar slot. The momentum built in these rooms, on these stages, in these galleries and across these dancefloors only matters if it carries forward.
Yes, Women’s Month offers visibility. But its real power lies in consistency. In showing up again in April, May and beyond. In booking the line-up, buying the artwork, returning to the panel. Culture shifts not in a single spotlight, but through sustained attention, and the women shaping London right now deserve that spotlight year-round.
