Flair Fashion’s Ignite Sparks a Night of Pure Creative Energy | LFW SS27

Theatre meets the runway once again at Flair Fashion‘s Ignite showcase. The title of the showcase being ‘Ignite’ translates in its ability of efficaciously igniting a sense of inspiration throughout the crowd. Featuring 8 designers with varied fashion focuses and even more varied concepts, each collection that graced the runway not only presented a profound amount of creative energy enough to power a city, but you can also gauge the meaningfulness, vulnerability and heaps of craft that has gone into each collection as the designers are in the throes of emerging into the market, a feat that is never easy.

Putting the flair back into fashion, the platform aims to showcase the next generation of designers who sit at the forefront of innovation, sustainability and technology at a global scale. Curating their very own ecosystem that bridges the new era of online shopping with emerging designers by showcasing their e-commerce marketplace in a new format. Imaginative storytelling offers a new way for brands to sell their collections and ultimately celebrate their crafts and unique perspectives.

The impossible was proved to be possible as the show itself was grander than the venue had been. Starting with Gashani Couture, whose designs looked straight out of a fairytale book of whimsical creatures and brought the enchanted forest to the runway. Silhouettes were dreamy, floaty and naturally captured the attention of the whole audience with each piece that cascaded down the illustrious runway. Followed by Quarez whose designs transported us to the Mad Hatter’s tea party in Wonderland; each look grew wild and wilder in both the sheer scale of hair and garment.

Theatrical designs curved into more wearable street styles with designers Velespace x The Kong is Dead and Une Enfant. The former collection encapsulated the epitome of edgy street wear with graffiti style slogans hand painted onto shredded baggy garments; models appeared to be taken from the streets of Camden itself – walls and all. While the latter designer Une Enfant, channelled femininity and references to the fashion of the 60’s, in a more modish approach to athleisure silhouettes and a sea of blue. Swinging tennis style skirts, bomber jackets and low waisted yoga pants created a collection that would have every aqua-blue lover fiending for.

Last in the running order but most definitely not least, Ignite concluded with the ever-theatrical Trashy Planets curated through the fascinating mind of showgirl Bambi Blue. Bringing back what it means to tell stories through garments, the collection time travelled renaissance characters to the modern-day world. Models brought the story of each character to life with hypnotising movement, garments bursting at the seams with intricate details that resorted to a standing ovation.
