This Summer Alto by San Carlo is teaming up with Cotton Beach Club for a two evening series that transports the energy of Ibiza’s White Isle onto Selfridges rooftop. Taking place on Saturday 29th August and Saturday 26th September, the limited collaboration invites guests from late afternoon through into the night for a carefully curated mix of destination dining, live entertainment and pure Mediterranean escape.
Setting the scene in lead up to the exclusive collaboration, the Noctis team had the pleasure of attending Alto by San Carlo this Summer, where the Selfridges rooftop restaurant is celebrating its hottest season yet with a full embrace of La Dolce Vita. From the moment you step out onto the roof terrace, the city fades away and the Mediterranean takes over. The view stretches across the West End skyline while the restaurant itself feels intentionally removed from the streets below, with the beating sun floating above Oxford Street.
The newly commissioned summer installation leans fully into that fantasy. Greenery tumbles and trails of bright lemons were left across the space, the whole rooftop has been dressed to evoke a long, unhurried coastal evening rather than a typical London terrace. We came for a dining experience rather than a ticketed event, and the kitchen delivered exactly that. The burrata with marinated beef tomato carpaccio and fresh basil was simple, precise and perfectly balanced, the tomatoes had real depth and sweetness, the burrata was at peak creaminess, and the basil lifted everything without shouting. The Tartare di Tonno followed in the same clean, bright vein: fresh tuna dressed with olive oil, French mustard, lemon juice and wild rocket. The mustard gave it a gentle backbone, while the rocket kept it feeling lively. Then came the Capesante al Forno, king scallops gratinated with garlic, olive oil and a golden breadcrumb topping. Rich without being heavy, they offered that lovely contrast between the soft scallop and the crisp crust. Service was attentive without hovering, and the overall mood of the room stayed relaxed even as the evening filled up, exactly the atmosphere the La Dolce Vita concept is aiming for.
What makes this collaboration particularly special is the way it merges two distinct hospitality worlds. Cotton Beach Club, the all white icon perched above Cala Tarida on Ibiza’s southwest coast, has long been the island’s benchmark for laid back luxury. For these two evenings only, that same effortless Balearic spirit is being transferred to London’s skyline. Guests will dine from a one-off menu that weaves alto’s refined Italian dishes with Cotton Beach favourites, while a roaming caviar service circulates the room and Riviera-style Rosé and Champagne arrive tableside over ice. As daylight fades, the resident DJs, saxophone and percussion artists take over, shifting the energy from relaxed destination dining into a late night rooftop session. It is a rare chance to experience the White Isle’s signature sunset atmosphere without leaving the capital, all set against the greenery, lemons and panoramic views that already make alto such a compelling summer destination.
