With so many new beauty products lauching daily, keeping up with it all can feel nearly impossible. From eye-catching packaging and sponsored influencer endorsements, to new must-have ingredients added to the ever-growing list of things we supposedly need, it’s difficult to know where to turn when building a skincare routine that’s right for you.
One brand however is taking a different approach. Introducing Tamzid Islam, a young beauty entrepreneur with a simple idea to strip away the gimmicks and create a brand focus on affordable luxury rooted in culture, fashion & conscious beauty.
Ahead of the launch of SKINTCARE and The Silk Collection, Noctis Beauty Editor Charli Avery caught up with Tamzid Islam to talk about founding a brand at the age of 21, challenging outdated standards, the importance of South Asian representation in the beauty industry as a British Bangladeshi man, and why luxury care doesn’t always require a luxury price tag.

Thanks for speaking with us Tamzid, tell us about yourself.
My name is Tamzid Islam, founder of SKINTCARE.
SKINTCARE is a new skincare brand founded on the principles of affordable luxury, representation, and conscious self-care. While the beauty industry continues to place significant focus on facial skincare, body care often feels overlooked despite being the largest organ we have. SKINTCARE was created to bridge that gap, elevating body care into a ritual rather than an afterthought.
What made you decide to use yourself as the face and body of the launch campaign?
For this launch in particular being our first I definitely felt it was impactful for myself to be the face of the campaign as it illustrates the relationship our brand has with fashion, modelling and the overall creative culture.
There aren’t really any British Bangladeshi male models on cosmetic campaigns, therefore I knew this campaign would also create inclusivity and be a first for our culture, naturally upholding SKINTCARE’s Brand Values as well.
As we grow, we will absolutely collaborate with other beautiful faces, creating more impactful moments.
How have you managed to start and fund this project at such a young age?
Before launching the brand at 21, I spent the past five years working as a high-fashion model, beginning my career at just 16. Through modelling, I developed a deep understanding of beauty, branding, storytelling, and consumer experience. Those transferable skills have heavily influenced SKINTCARE’s identity, from its visual direction and campaign imagery to the luxury experience we aim to create at an accessible price point.
I’ve been able to establish this project using the deep experience and finances I’ve been blessed to be able to gain over the years.
As we all know the beauty market is becoming increasingly crowded, there’s a real need to stand out these days. What makes SKINTCARE different from other brands?
The brand itself was born from personal experience. Growing up, I spent much of my childhood using medical creams and became interested in skincare from a young age. Over time, that passion evolved into a desire to create something that felt elevated yet attainable.
The name SKINTCARE carries a dual meaning. Originally, it was simply a play on the word “skincare” using my first initial, “T.” However, “skint” is also British slang for having little money. Growing up in a working-class household inspired me to create a brand that delivers a premium, luxury aesthetic without the premium luxury price tag. The packaging is very earth in tone, which will actually stand out from the very bright ‘childlike’ packaging that is everywhere right now.
As a British Bangladeshi founder, representation sits at the heart of the brand. South Asian ownership remains underrepresented within the beauty industry, and there are very few male British Bangladeshi founders building brands within this space. Through SKINTCARE, I hope to contribute to a more diverse and inclusive future while encouraging others from similar backgrounds to pursue creative entrepreneurship.

Has anyone tried it out yet? What was their feedback?
So far, only friends and family, and of course they love it. However, I know you have tried it Charli! On an Attitude editorial, so – what did you think?
Charli interjects – yes I did! Without sounding biased, it smells great and the oil looked super glowy on camera. Impressed!
How do you plan to market the brand, and what is your vision for SKINTCARE over the next 5 years?
With my high fashion experience, the brand has a strong foundation rooted in high end aesthetics, incorporating artistic imagery and collaboration with incredibly talented photographers, stylists and overall creative teams. This element brings a fresh set of content for SKINTCARE allowing our consumers to appreciate a whole experience not just individual products.
Social media is going to play a big part in marketing it, and getting into the right hands.
I see the brand continuing to immensely elevate over the next 5 years with many more impactful collections and sold in appropriate retailers, growing our SKINTCARE supporters!
Tell us about the launch campaign
Our debut launch, The Silk Collection, consists of three Ecocert COSMOS-certified body care products:
- Silk Body Cleanser
- Silk Body Cream
- Silk Body Oil
The collection focuses on natural and organic ingredients, recyclable packaging, and creating luxurious daily rituals that are both environmentally conscious and accessible.
We launched on June 20th, available on skintcare.co
You mention the natural ingredients in the SKINTCARE range, can you talk to us about them and what benefits they have?
Absolutely! Across The Silk Collection, we use a blend of botanical oils, plant extracts, and naturally derived hydrators. Our Silk Body Oil is rich in organic sunflower, jojoba, sweet almond, argan, rosehip, raspberry seed, and pumpkin seed oils, which work together to nourish the skin, strengthen the skin barrier, and lock in moisture while leaving a healthy, radiant finish.
The Silk Body Cream combines ingredients such as glycerin, sodium PCA, betaine, jojoba oil, sunflower oil, and hyaluronic acid to deliver long-lasting hydration while supporting the skin’s natural moisture barrier. It’s lightweight, absorbs beautifully, and leaves the skin feeling incredibly soft without feeling greasy.
Our Silk Body Cleanser uses a gentle blend of naturally derived cleansing agents alongside betaine and organic quince fruit extract to cleanse the skin without stripping away its natural moisture. The result is skin that feels clean, balanced, and comfortable after every shower.
All three products are Ecocert COSMOS certified, meaning they’re formulated with naturally derived ingredients, include ingredients from organic farming, and are produced to meet strict environmental and sustainability standards. For us, luxury should never come at the expense of the planet.
Is there a ritual to how you use the products? Talk to us about that
The ritual begins with the Silk Body Cleanser. I like to use it in a warm shower, taking a few moments to slow down and enjoy the sweet scent while gently cleansing the skin. Rather than rushing, it’s about being present and turning an everyday routine into something intentional.
After showering, while the skin is still slightly damp, I apply the Silk Body Cream to lock in hydration. It absorbs quickly but leaves the skin feeling incredibly soft and nourished throughout the day.
To finish, I massage a few pumps of the Silk Body Oil over areas that need extra nourishment or anywhere I want a healthy glow. Layering the cream and oil together creates a beautiful finish and helps prolong hydration, while the natural fragrance lingers subtly on the skin.
For me, this ritual is about more than skincare. It’s a moment to pause, reconnect, and take care of yourself. That’s really what SKINTCARE stands for, elevating everyday body care into a simple act of luxury and self-care.
Do you have other products on the back burner after the Silk Collection?
Oh absolutely! We have more beautiful collections on the way…
But for now, it’s time to celebrate a skintcare summer!
