Amelia Moore has been on Noctis’ radar since her 2022 debut EP, ‘teaching a robot to love,’ and our view has been phenomenal, watching her utterly own up to her artistry and some of the most striking vocal performances in recent years.
With every news of new Amelia Moore-laced music, the excitement goes through the roof. The emotionally-vigorous ‘i feel everything’ set Moore apart from other rising artists and caused jaw-dropping effects all the way to the Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! Show. Her duet with jxdn, ‘FUMD’ is a standout example of Moore’s angelic softness and raging desire for creative expression.
In her new project, ‘he’s still just not that into you,’ the songstress displays her relatable translation of romcom-inspired real-life takeaways. Moore uses her palette of LA dating experiences as the canvas for the playful exposé on emotional unavailability and game-playing.

She shares more about the inspirations behind her new EP, ‘he’s still just not that into you,’ moving to LA, and which one of the Sex and The City characters she identifies with the most.
Congratulations on the release of your new EP ‘he’s still just not that into you!’ how did you celebrate the release?
Thank you!!! I ran the usual. Dinner at Craig’s in LA with a couple close friends and some of my team!
As an artist, could you describe to us how it feels to put out music into the world that was once only yours to listen to?
I like to say it feels like i’m letting people read my journal haha.
What were the main thoughts and themes you had in mind when you were shaping this project into ‘he’s just not that into you’?
I was so inspired by the movie “he’s just not that into you” because of all these different storylines happening, complicated and crazy but all united through a woman’s perspective. I’ve had so many crazy dating experiences since I moved to LA and started figuring out who I am. After watching the movie I felt moved to just tell those stories as honest as I possibly could!
Can you think of a movie that would align with the core of ‘he’s just not that into you’, besides the one with the same title?
Crazy Stupid Love? How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days? Sweet Home Alabama. God I love a rom com!
‘spelling bee’ is about telling someone you’re obsessed with what you want them to do to you. What is the whole concept of ‘spelling bee’ initially inspired by?
Being shy and innocent and having dirty thoughts but not knowing what to do with them!!! I was homeschooled and really sheltered growing up and i wanted to make a song about feeling those things in a fun and lighthearted way.
How was it working with Tezzo Touchdown?
So inspiring. I saw him open for Tyler The Creator back in 2022 on the ‘Call Me If You Get Lost’ tour and have been a fan ever since. Having him on this record was really special.
How would you describe yourself and your patterns when you have a crush on someone? Are you shy and reserved, or you are not scared to wear your heart on your sleeve?
I just finished Sex And The City for the first time and I think I’m Carrie hahahahaha. I miss the signs, I’m straightforward and am terrible at playing cool.
The EP includes ‘that’s all they really want,’ your own unique spin of Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Girl Just Wanna Have Fun.’ Could you explain your take on this track?
That’s all they really want is about boys just wanting to have fun. They wanna have sex but they don’t want you to spend the night. They’ll introduce you to his parents and still not ask you to be his girlfriend. I wrote this song with my friend Alna and we both know this type of guy too well. This song is the heart of this mixtape and I’m so proud of how it turned out.
What role did music play when you were still living in Georgia?
I was doing a lot of community theatre and leading worship for my student ministry.
Could you tell us more about the transition from leading worship for your student group to you today living in Los Angeles? Was it difficult to adjust?
My performance coach put me onto The Artist’s Way when I was fifteen years old. My whole perspective changed when I learned that God actually wants me to be creative. There was definitely an adjusting period when I first got to LA though. I didn’t think that it was possible for “good” people to do drugs or for “good” people to have sex before marriage haha. But I’m so thankful to have been surrounded with great friends since I moved here. Sometimes I feel like I’m still learning something new every day.
What parts of yourself have you embraced since leaving home?
I feel like the parts of me that were judged and frowned upon were able to be celebrated and flourish in a creative community like Los Angeles. From the way I dress, to the music I listen to, the lyrics I write.
What are you the most proud of? This could be something within music, or personal life.
Playing camp flog gnaw and overcoming my fear of sushi!
