In The Spotlight With BUNT.

“Life changed overnight for me,” says BUNT. about his breakout hit ‘Clouds’ and all the success that has unfolded since its release. From a snippet on TikTok, BUNT.’s resilience and hard work, which have spanned eight years of crafting his sound, have paid off.

Levi Wijk, better known as the German electronic DJ BUNT. is making waves in the scene and at stages all around the world. His music carries the light, caressing touch of soul-healing production and uplifting lyricism. The one that spoke to me on a deeper level was ‘Peace In Silence,’ transforming my mindset into an instant state of gratitude.

With the release of his new track, ‘Best Day Of Your Life (BUNT. version) (ft. Tom Odell),’ BUNT. wants each show and each set to feel like the best day of your life. This sentiment stems from the meaning of his stage name; in German, ‘bunt’ translates to ‘colorful.’

Speaking to BUNT. between his tour dates, Berlin’s Lollapalooza and Poupet in Saint-Malo-du-Bois, Western France, he shares that each show reminds him of how fortunate he is. Working with such a busy tour schedule, he reveals, it is being able to speak in his native language and being surrounded by his friends that helps him maintain his energy levels.

With the final tour stop at London’s Roundhouse on December 4th, BUNT. is set to bring his energy cascading to every single fan. His music radiates at a higher frequency, illuminating joy for life and urging us to seize the moment. Join the movement!

How are you doing today? Where did we catch you?

I’m doing awesome and am back home in Germany for a couple days. Just coming back from a lot of festival shows. Friends and family were with me. I was having the time of my life.

You’ve been riding this wave of commercial success for over a year now, do you give yourself any moments of peace and stillness to take it all in?

I do here and there but honestly, I realize at every show how fortunate I am to be able to do this. Not much peace in the silence needed for me at this moment haha.

What was it about Tom Odell’s track ‘Best Day Of My Life,’ that made you want to give it your own spin?

The whole point of my show is to be happy and to be alive, and this very specific show should be the best day of your life. Not to fulfil my personal expectations but to give every single fan out there a special experience.

What would you like people to feel when listening to it?

An extra serotonin shot.

What would be your idea of a perfect Summer day?

Friends and alcohol free beer.

Could you share where the photo used for the song’s artwork is from?

From a live show where I started a mosh pit by the end of the set.

What is the meaning of your stage name?

Colorful. Experience every part of life.

You’ve been touring all around the world, including stadium sell-outs in Mexico City and Vancouver. How do you maintain your energy levels on tour?

Being surrounded by friends helps a lot. Talking in your native language and to be able to share experiences carries me through all of this.

If you could choose any venue (park, natural reservoir, anything), where would be your dream place to perform?

A big fire pit with 500 people.

For those people planning to come to your London gig at the Roundhouse, what can people expect form your live show?

Energy. A set that feels like your iPod on shuffle. Every emotion from raging to crying.

Last year, you dropped your debut project ‘Levi Don’t Do It.’ Let’s say five years passed, what do you think you will feel listening back to the record? What period of your life is it mainly soundtracking?

Man. Levi actually did it!

Your breakout hit ‘Clouds’ changed everything. Could you talk us through how you found out the track is getting traction on TikTok? How did you feel?

I was nervous and excited at the same time. Like life changed overnight for me.

What is the ideal setting for you and your creativity to flow when making music?

6pm and a good coffee machine without any distraction.

For a decade you were crafting sounds without any major recognition. What kept you going?

Trippie Redd once said: „Maybe the world is yours“

How did the pandemic impact your career’s trajectory and what were you forced to do to sustain your dream?

Actually not at all. Since I’ve spend my time in my studio anyways, I didn’t have that crazy of an urge to go out haha.

Would you change anything?

Yep. Planes. Can we just double the speed of flying at some point?
