Janice ‘Magic’ | Video Premiere

Even relationships have expiry dates, and sometimes people tend to hold onto it despite the mold. Rising R&B artist Janice discovered light within herself; once she focused on self-empowerment, she found ‘Magic.’ Tapping into dark R&B, the singer also shares accompanying striking visuals directed by Josefin Malmen.

Taken from her new EP ‘Feelings Unresolved’ out tomorrow, Swedish R&B/soul princess Janice premiers the visuals for the new single ‘Magic’ featuring a sultry choreography comparable with the likes of Normani, Teyanna Taylor, or SZA.

Janice started singing in the Tensta Gospel Choir (previous members include Seinabo Sey and Lykke Li). Cut-to today, she is one of the most exciting names to come out of Sweden with a nomination for a Garmmis (Swedish Grammys) in the breakthrough Artist Category for her debut album ‘Fallin Up.’

‘Magic’ is her second release post-pandemic and offers outstanding visuals. Janice speaks on the track: “Magic is a song about what happens when you reach the limit to what you should tolerate in your relationships, and finally find the guts to stand up for yourself,” explains Janice, “how those immediate insights lead to a fantastic inner search for the magic of life.”

She continues by comparing the ‘Magic’ music video to ‘witchcraft activity’: “It’s been a long process, rehearsing the choreography, finding the right location, getting the team together; we really put our hearts and souls into this. It feels really special, and I’m so proud and excited to show the world this facet of myself. Get ready for witchcraft activity!”
