Jenevieve is in a moment of expansion. With the release of “Flight Risqué,” a collaborative rework of her CRYSALIS track “Flight Risk” featuring Freddie Gibbs and SALIMATA, the Los Angeles-based artist continues to open up her world, both sonically and creatively.
Arriving alongside an official visualiser and following “Waiting Room” with Jordan Ward, the single signals a deeper emphasis on collaboration as she moves toward CRYSALIS (CODA).
Fresh off a sold-out European run of The CRYSALIS Tour, with stops including London, Paris, and Amsterdam, Jenevieve’s rise has felt both organic and undeniable. Her breakthrough album CRYSALIS produced a No.1 R&B radio hit with “Head Over Heels,” earned industry recognition including an iHeartRadio On The Verge Artist honour, and further cemented the success of earlier breakout “Baby Powder,” now surpassing 175 million global streams.
But for Jenevieve, the real impact of this era goes beyond metrics.

“I like to let it evolve naturally depending on who I’m working with but it’s still me,” she says, reflecting on her approach to collaboration. That balance, fluid yet grounded, sits at the core of “Flight Risqué,” where her distinct tone remains intact even as new voices enter her orbit.
That openness has also shaped how audiences connect to her work. “It means a lot to see people get emotional about it or say it’s helped them in a certain way especially ’cause I went through a lot while I was working on it,” she explains.
“Hearing that makes me feel like they really care about me.” It’s this emotional reciprocity that has defined CRYSALIS as more than just a project, but a shared experience.
Despite major milestones, including her first chart-topping record, Jenevieve remains grounded in instinct. “‘Head Over Heels,’ we had that one for a long time, and it’s cool that people noticed it. I’m still just doing me and what feels right.” That commitment to authenticity continues to guide her next moves, rather than external expectations.

As she prepares to close this chapter with CRYSALIS (CODA), Jenevieve hints at both reflection and renewal. “I feel like I understand life a little better now, and I’ve been growing a lot because of the pace,” she says.
“I wanted to close it with something fun and hopeful. I can’t wait for the next era.” The project promises not just a conclusion, but a transition, one shaped by clarity and forward momentum.
Genre has never been a constraint for Jenevieve, and she prefers it that way. “Freeing for sure, I don’t want to be defined by one genre,” she says. “I’m very versatile in the music I listen to and grew up on, and it just influences what I like freely.” That refusal to be boxed in continues to set her apart in a crowded R&B landscape.
At the heart of this next phase is a growing sense of community. “It means a lot – that’s the type of stuff I dreamed about doing,” she says of working with other artists. “I can’t wait to do more features that my heart desires.” With “Flight Risqué,” that vision is already taking shape, an artist expanding her world, while inviting others into it on her own terms.
