Laa Lee and Cristale have unveiled the official video for viral hit ‘Bong Bing’, out now on Black Butter Records.
With scenic settings in Laa Lee’s homeland of Jamaica, contrasting with vibrant night shots, showing the character of Jungle, Kingston – where the artist resides – the invigorating official video for ‘Bong Bing’ sees both artists at the helm of a dance troupe, with all involved grooving to the track in unison.
Laa Lee shares, “I’m so happy, I’m just here having fun, being me. I want to represent fun, energy, my community, and dance in dancehall music. I want to make people smile, it’s therapeutic and healing. We have all struggled and sometimes we just need to have fun and dance! I’m expecting this song to continue to do that – the song is going to be BIG.”
Speaking on the video, Cristale says, “Shooting the video for Bong Bing was a great experience. I got to go home, I hadn’t been to Jamaica since I was 5 years old. I feel so blessed to have been around such positive and creative people that helped to bring this sensation to life. My favourite part was going into Jungle and experiencing the togetherness of the community. I thank God for giving me an opportunity like this… I can’t wait to go back to Jamaica!”
Spreading like wildfire over the last few weeks, the track has already racked up 2 million streams and 600,000 video creations on TikTok. The clip of the track is sitting on 1 billion TikTok views, cementing it as one of the internet’s biggest music crazes this year. Not stopping there, ‘Bong Bing’ has been added to BBC Radio 1Xtra’s A–List and Kiss Fresh’s playlist, with strong support across Capital Xtra from Ras Kwame and Tim Westwood.
