Written over recent years, what now? is the glorious new EP from UK-based singer-songwriter leo. whose brand of self-reflective storytelling has made waves due to his cinematic production and picture-perfect lyrics.
Complete with five stunning videos, the EP includes the title track what now? alongside sweet silly sixteen and our personal favorite, i just need to write a song.
Discussing the EP, leo. explains:
“At their core, these songs all share a common theme of how I often feel so distant from my feelings and from the world. It’s like I wrote them from inside the stillness of my own little terrarium, watching through the glass as everything around me changed and grew. I really wanted to build on this for the visual side of this project, as well as do something new and ambitious to complement the music. The result was 5 videos featuring little clay leo. who lives in a terrarium. We shot these over 2 days around Woodhouse Ridge in Leeds, with the wonderful props made by my friend and co-director Mar Alves, and camera work by Jacob Whiting.”
Born and raised in Portugal, leo.‘s brand of indie folk, and creation of music that makes the listener right at home have made waves on streaming platforms; forty million streams since releasing his first single, recorded in his bedroom, in 2018. This EP is a culmination of years of hard work, and is forward-looking, despite the body of work looking back on life lessons from youth.
