On a blisteringly hot evening in East London, the legendary Miles Kane and his band took to the stage at MOTH Club—and raised the temperature even further. The venue was packed wall-to-wall with fans ready to brave the sweltering conditions for a night of electric, unforgettable music
For this first-time Miles Kane gig-goer — more often found dancing to synths than guitar riffs—the experience was nothing short of revelatory. The wall of sound unleashed by Kane and his band was a showcase of raw talent, masterful musicianship, and unapologetic energy.

Opening with fan-favourite “Rearrange” from his debut album, the tone was set immediately: scorching guitar riffs, pitch-perfect vocals, and a crowd that, despite the heatwave, bounced in time to every beat.
Kane—best known for his solo work, as co-frontman of The Last Shadow Puppets alongside Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner, and formerly of The Rascals—has been focused on his solo career since 2011. A GQ-named style icon and beloved indie stalwart, he commands a loyal fanbase, and tonight, they hung on every lyric, every chord, and every riff with near-religious devotion.

The set kept the momentum rolling with the high-octane “Troubled Son”, its introspective lyrics and anthemic chorus amplified by a crowd that sang along like their lives depended on it. “Better Than That” followed, its catchy, garage rock swagger and that of “Cry On my Guitar” evoking echoes of T. Rex with its retro-cool clap-along choruses and attitude.
Then came “One Man Band”, and soon after, a personal highlight: the riotously infectious “Inhaler”. With its pounding rhythm, jagged riffs, and irreverent charm, it had the entire room jumping, sweating, cheering, and totally immersed—even those of us new to the setlist.

Kane and his band never let the energy dip too much. Tracks like “King Crawler”, “Sunlight in Shadows”, and “The Wonder” were delivered with seamless polish and charisma, while the slinky, 60s-tinged “Love is Cruel” brought a touch of vintage class to the evening.
They struck a perfect balance between high-voltage showmanship and tight, studio-quality sound—a rare feat in a live setting. Even slightly slower numbers gave the audience a welcome breather while still holding us rapt with their emotional resonance.
By the end of the night, no one was more drenched than Kane himself, having poured every ounce of vocal, physical, and emotional energy into the performance. It’s clear this isn’t a one-off effort—this is how Kane always shows up: all in.
For those yet to witness him live, words can’t do full justice to the experience. But take it from an electro-head turned indie convert: Miles Kane is a force of nature, and this was a gig I won’t soon forget. As the crowd filed out into the mildly cooler night air, there was at least one new fan to count – already looking forward to the next time.
