Picard Brothers ‘It’s Not Over’ | Premiere

The creative duo of Clément and Maxime, better known as ‘Picard Brothers’, have been honing their craft in the music scene for several years. Much of this work has been done behind the scenes, having gained production credits working with the likes of Beyoncé, Mark Ronson and Madonna, creating an eye watering portfolio in the process. However, this year we’ve seen the duo take a step forward into the limelight, with a series of their own releases. Drawing on a vast range of influences that include Jazz, funk, old school house, pop and disco, the artists have created a nostalgic sound that shows just why they’re adored by so many in the industry.

For the French artists, this sound is perfectly demonstrated in their latest single, ‘Its Not Over’. A song that’s full of nostalgia, which draws on the sound of the 80s and 90s, as well as French filter house to create a joyous outcome. Today, the Picard Brothers release the music video to accompany ‘Its Not Over’, premiering here on Noctis. A visual that’s equally reminiscent of the past, tongue in cheek in its design and transports the viewer into a different reality. The pair explain: “In a parallel universe where the Picard Brothers are the most famous weightlifters in all of USSR, a young fan desperately workouts to look like his idols. He’ll soon find out that the machines have other plans for him.”

Perhaps the Picard Brothers greatest ability as producers is the way they merge the genres of pop and dance, creating a youthful and fun aesthetic. This skill has quickly seen them become sought after remixers, with the likes of Beck, Robyn and Flume all getting the French touch. On this front, things don’t look to be slowing down either, with a remix of Disclosure’s new track ‘Watch Your Step’ set for release in the coming days, it’s an exciting time for the artists. With a number of electronic pop tracks set to be released early in the New Year, all eyes will quickly turn to 2021, which very well could be their best year yet.
