French-Iranian singer/songwriter Parsa Sabet unveils his new single ‘Stuck’. Languid and wistful, ‘Stuck’ is a soul-searching meditation on nostalgia, regret and the radical acceptance of a loss. The epitome and representation of a life never lived, a story never experienced and an adventure never pursued.
Sonically drawing from alternative pop and indie folk soundscapes, Sabet’s intimate and confessional vocal approach to the track deepens its sense of muted longing and yearning. Perfectly mirroring the tension between nostalgia and the paralysis of unfulfilled dreams.
Prior to its official release, Sabet teased the track on TikTok at the end of last year, quickly amassing over 100,000 views. Stuck’ was originally one of many demos Parsa planned to keep to himself. After troubleshooting several versions of the track, he remained unsatisfied. It wasn’t until he was working abroad that the idea emerged to blend bossa nova–inspired guitar with Radiohead-style drums.
Speaking on his decision to officially release this track now, Parsa said: “I wasn’t planning to release this song anytime soon, it was meant to stay personal for a while. But I impulsively started teasing it on TikTok, and seeing it resonate so strongly, reaching hundreds of thousands of views, made me realize it needed to exist out in the world now”.
The single’s accompanying video was directed by Owen Renard and exudes a bespoke arthouse sensibility. Through the eyes of an elderly protagonist, the video translates a life suspended in waiting into a striking visual experience. Amid repetitive routines and confined spaces, the character moves through a frozen existence. Moments of dance punctuate this stillness, providing fleeting escapes where desire and imagination briefly overtake reality.
‘Stuck’ marks Parsa Sabet’s release since his 2025 single ‘Angele’. Prior to this, Sabet released ‘FANTASYLAND’, his debut EP in 2024. Released via the New York-based independent label DOLO, the EP was a collection of standalone tracks exploring experimentation in the realm of intimacy and connection. The project was anchored by the emotionally charged and sonically woozy standout tracks ‘Polka Dots’ and ‘Leave so I can hurt myself’.
Blending experimental pop, alternative R&B and electronic textures under what he calls “experimental fairytale music”, Parsa Sabet’s work combines acoustic guitars and modular synths to create a delicate yet raw sound world that sounds ethereal and dreamlike. All the while reflecting a constant duality: intimate yet always reaching for elsewhere.
