American stardom Tinashe showed off with a power performance but missed the final touches of a five-star, standing ovation night in London.
It’s not the first time I have seen Tinashe, and it won’t be the last as dedicated fans flock to O2 Brixton Academy (a venue that has risen to prominence for artists who want to take the next step to arenas) to watch singer-songwriter and dancer grace a cold Sunday night. For many, the thought of work scaries wasn’t at the top of their mind as Tinashe stormed onto the stage with a Match My Freak introduction followed through with ‘When I Get You Alone’ & ‘Needs’.
With in-between dancers and tracks such as ‘Bouncin Pt. 2’ & ‘Zoom’ filling the night as it was getting into full swing to ‘Talk to Me Nice’ and tour debut ‘Die a Little Bit’ ft Ms Banks going down by storm; I and others struggled to get into the groove as the set list lost it mojo with shorten songs and Tinashe moving to stage and back.
Closing her performance with a shortened version of ‘No Broke Boys’ and two renditions of ‘Nasty’, all in all, it was a night filled to the brim with as many songs in less than 2 hours and an artist that continues to grow.
