BICEP Live at Finsbury Park

Following already a hit summer, well-versed DJ duo BICEP continue to show what they are about with a sold-out CHROMA-curated takeover within the hidden pathways of Finsbury Park.

Childhood friends Andrew Ferguson and Matthew McBriar have seemingly been around for years, and whilst ‘Apricots’ & ‘Glue’ have put them on the maps, their latest work is a magical masterclass that sets them out from their counterparts. Billed as an AV/DJ performance, the dance music duo can experiment and curate, giving fans a set that no one has seen before.

And as the summer run goes on, BICEP returns to London – a city that holds a place in their hearts – to an extended four-hour set that takes onlookers from the chilled backdrop of mellow dance music to heavy electronic drum bass as the night sees to exist.

Accompanied by a selection of strong support from Joy Orbison and Mia Koden, the evening vibes started with remixed tracks Sunhatch’s ‘Come Feel the Love’ and Talals ‘Nomad’, but the true show-stoppers kicked in with the striking track ‘Water’ that then led to the stimulant songs followed by garage favourite ‘Plus One’ by Irish artist Bonk. And whilst you could argue that it was a steady start to the set, as the sun rose down and the lights of the stars gleamed down, that’s when the party started.

Chroma came to life. Visuals, lasers and floating smoke across the audience weaved between the heart-stopping music in tandem, and BICEP truly came out in force. Showing off their newly released tracks Rola & remix L.A.V.A alongside unreleased ones that were being sprinkled throughout the set, BICEP edged the crowd as we were introduced to the addictive ‘Glue’ but brilliantly closed with a stream of never-heard drum and bass mixes.

Lights faded to black, sudden whispers appeared, and a show that will not be forgotten, BICEP are beyond the best.
