‘Daydream‘ is the loose-limbed, dusty hip-hop, indie pop single from Stolen Days, who return with another dash of sample-driven psychedelia. Catalan-inspired horn lines bathe in the gentle sunlight of a half-remembered summer afternoon, with an infectious chorus to boot.
Stolen Days explain, “This song was really fun to create. We got to weave together a classic dusty hip-hop sound with indie pop guitars and boom-bap drums. It’s the kind of combination you’ll hear throughout the upcoming album. The song is about escapism and sinking into a daydream, but in a positive way…just vibing out in your own little bubble.“
Alex Fitts and Dub Sonata, AKA Stolen Days, follow up ‘Butterfly‘, released last month to warm debut fanfare, and said warmth emanates across Daydream, with heaps of invention and a gentle lending of influence from Gorillaz, Beck and Broken Bells.
