London Fashion Week is no stranger to pushing boundaries, and this year, the On|Off installation takes it to a whole new level of creative innovation.
In its 22nd year, On|Off continues its tradition of supporting avant-garde fashion, and this season, it’s all about the collaboration with artist and designer Jack Irving.
AW24 brings a burst of energy to Spitalfields E1 with Jack’s visionary showcase of wearable inflatable art sculptures. Imagine swimming into a subterranean aquatic underworld, where a new species of alien life forms thrives against the backdrop of an abandoned power plant in the depths of the ocean. Over the years, the sea, infused with electromagnetic energy, has birthed hybrid creatures beyond imagination. That’s what it was like walking into this installation.
The attendees got transported into a realm of discovery as models, stationed on rotating platforms, unveiled three mesmerizing inflatable alien creations, drenched in aqua hues with accents of chrome that reflected the electromagnetic theme.
Jack and his work is a complete fusion of fashion, art, and technology that seizes the imagination and leaves onlookers transfixed. His collection is not just about garments; it’s a narrative woven with threads of creativity and innovation. Each piece tells a story of evolution and adaptation in a world where the boundaries between reality and imagination blur.
Jack provided a celebration of bold ideas and limitless possibilities, perfectly encapsulating the spirit of Gen Z and in a world where conformity is the norm, Jack Irving and On|Off remind us to embrace the unconventional, venture into uncharted territory, and dare to dream of the extraordinary.
