Mark Fast presented both men and womenswear autumn winter 2022 collection in the basement of Phonica Records, Soho, London, a venue usually hosting parties and night events. This season was a continuation of previous collections taking inspiration of night life, rave, club-ready and street-style garments.Â
Before the show even started, the venue and lighting designs already told the story to the audience: neon kaleidoscopic-like lights and upbeats soundtrack playing in the background, meant the club inspiration was obvious
The first look set the tone of the collection opening with an eye catching puffer jacket, a T-shirt emblazoned with a large MF monogram and neon green knitted details, combined with a repeated “Mark Fast” typographic skirt, The MF monogram, introduced last season, enhances the vibrancy of this collection.
Throughout the show, you could see striking colours (especially neon tones) and shapes that are illuminated through couture dresses. Mark Fast and stylist Calvin Opaleye of the show also embodies new elements into the brand’s signature knitted designs, from single long sleeved knitted dress with a detachable puffer sleeved-glove to cutout shoulders mini dresses and play-suits.
The collection really highlighted and contrasted bolder silhouettes and more volume while retaining elements of the Mark Fast’s signature body-forming knit dresses. The takeaway from this collection, logo prints, neon colours and oversized silhouettes dominate, with large figures embellished in bold, dramatic viscose fringing elegantly contrasting the stone washed denims.
