The Innovative Design of GB David

Who doesn’t love a good bag? They’re one of the most practical, versatile and customisable fashion accessories which can complete the perfect look.

To create a practical but eye-catching and timeless bag is  not easy, but French bag and accessories brand GB David gets it right every time. Devised by French designer Eric David Jurczynski, GB David is a family business based in Paris with a fascinating backstory. The “GB” initials  stand for “Génie de la Bastille”, a tribute to the majestic July Column of Paris erected in 1840 in commemoration of the French  revolution, while GB David’s logo was inspired by the star on the “Le Génie de la Liberté” sculpture. These principles of liberation are reflected within the core beliefs of the brand being “Freedom” of choice. Incorporating minimalistic and contemporary design matched with traditional craftsmanship and complimented by alluring colours, GB David create bags that are designed to be worn however and wherever the wearer wants.

Last month, GB David launched their introduction to the British audience in collaboration with conscious British womenswear designer Maison Bent during London Fashion Week, the brand presented a range of made to order, handmade, and signature bags complementing Maison Bent’s sophisticated garments during the presentation.

During the presentation, the brands invited style influencer Issey Moloney, TV personality Aaron Francis alongside other models to present the garments and bags to a captivated audience. Issey modelled their newly designed “Vingt Sept” bag. The essence of GB David’s bags embrace the practicality of what a bag can do, the freedom to express yourself without limitations and the new Vingt Sept bag is a prime example to showcase this inspiration. The bag can used as belt, crossbody or handbag showing its flexible versatility, Issey used a grey Vingt Sept bag as a handbag,  demonstrating how it can be worn with an air of elegance.

Also showcased within the presentation, their Figaro and Chantilly bags made their London Fashion Week debuts. Both bags are handmade using traditional French craftsmanship techniques such as french seam, double top stitches with premium leather – techniques which significantly extend the lifespan of bags. This signature combination creates bags that are not made to use for  only one season but are long lasting in terms of both quality and style.

GB David’s extensive collection comprises of over 18 sleek designs in 5 convenient sizes and 54 different colours. The most exciting part is, as bags can be made to  order, all bags can be personalised with names down to initials, numbers or symbols. You can even change the colours of  the edges of the bag which just goes to show the dedication to their belief of freedom of expression. GB David bags and accessories are  available to purchase worldwide online and available in  stores in France and the Greater China area.
