Manta Returns With Upbeat Single ‘Clementine’

Manchester-based artist Manta has returned with a new single titled ‘Clementine,’ featuring rhythmic acoustic guitars, hard-hitting drums, and divine backing vocals, which perfectly complement Manta’s impressive lyricism and talent for writing melodies as well as fusing pop and rap verses.

In a statement about the release, Manta explained that it was inspired by the feeling of summer love and not wanting summer to end. This sentiment is evident in the song’s infectious chorus and upbeat nature, which transports listeners to a sunny day by the beach.

What makes Manta stand out as an artist is his DIY approach to his craft. He directs, edits, and grades all of his music videos, in addition to producing all of his music. This level of control allows Manta to fully represent himself and his creative vision, which has garnered him critical acclaim. Manta’s debut EP ‘Confined Spaces’ was released to warm reception from fans and tastemakers alike, with Dork dubbing it “undeniably brilliant.”
His success has also earned him editorial support from Spotify’s Peach playlist, frequent championing from BBC Introducing Manchester, and a Sub Culture profile feature with fashion brand Fred Perry. The artist ended 2022 on a high note, supporting Rejjie Snow on his sold-out headline show in Leeds and making his debut performance at The Great Escape in Brighton. He also played Neighbourhood Festival, had a high-profile support slot for The Lottery Winners, and appeared in a BBC Introducing showcase in Manchester. Looking ahead to 2023, Manta is set to release his highly anticipated second EP ‘Roundabouts in Therapy’ in April.

With his impressive work ethic and unique sound, it’s no surprise that fans and critics alike are eagerly anticipating what he has in store for the future.
