Southbank Centre’s KUNSTY Showcases the Audacious, the Radical and the Uncategorisable

KUNSTY will return to the Southbank Centre, showcasing the audacious, the radical and the uncategorisable from 4th – 6th November.

Now in its second year, the Southbank Centre’s performance series KUNSTY takes over the Queen Elizabeth Hall and Purcell Room to present a vibrant new programme of raucous performances from independent artists working at the boundaries of dance, performance, live art and cabaret:

  • Experience the visceral, vulgar and vampy ‘cabaret’ IT’S GOT LEGS!!!!!!! (4 Nov) from multidisciplinary artists Samir Kennedy and Sean Murray, with a performance that embraces the ugliness and chaotic beauty of how we make and unmake our identities.
  • The UK premiere of artist and comedian Kim Noble’s witty lecture and book-talk performance How to Write (5 Nov) will take audiences through how to write their own book, or at least draft and email.
  • NOW NOT NOW (5 & 6 Nov) invites audiences to witness the uncanny unfolding of a morning between two performers. Combining live filmed footage with forced perspectives such as slow motion and fast forward, embark on a disorienting and darkly funny deep dive into the peculiar ways we experience the flow of time.
  • London company and Fringe favourite Fag Packet close out the series with DYKE Systems Ltd (6 Nov). Bringing their signature, silly blend of comedy and physical theatre, DYKE Systems Ltd explores how the forces of greed and conformity threaten us in a capitalist nightmare that’s coming for us all.
