London based songstress Lyne Nsongo is coming in hard with her latest single and visuals to ‘ROYAL’ a powerful R&B-Trap fusion with borderline ballad vocals, ready to kickstart our July playlist. Following off the back of her new music partnership with Crep Select, Lyne is quickly emerging as a leader in the urban scene blending her hallmark sound and avant garde streetwear style.
Setting a stance for women and empowering her female audience Lyne’s latest single acts as a reminder to embrace your worth, energy, and act like the royalty that you are, an aptly named track given the message she is intent on sent to her audience. “The song comes from discussions I had with some of my female friends who were at very low points in their lives, I just want to lift them up and make them see their worth. I’ve realised that it’s my calling to deliver this empowering message through my music. If I can become an inspiration for girls out there to follow a good path in life, I believe I will have achieved my purpose in life. I have a gift and I want to use it to impact my world”.
Split between two contrasting settings, the visuals for the track feature Lyne skateboarding and vibing in a church backdrop adorned in Marine Serre, followed by her an injection of her urban mark with street scenery and rails of clothing that we can only imagine has been pulled directly from Lyne Nsongo’s wardrobe.
Giving us an exciting glimpse into what we can expect from her upcoming EP, ‘ROYAL’ also showcases a shift in R&B as Nsongo sets out a fresh direction for the genre, with the Belgian Congolese songstresses signature vocals, leading the movement.
Produced by Ocean, Lyne is already attracting the attention of big industry names, with ‘ROYAL’ engineered by Hot Money, known for working alongside fellow R&B Trap legends Stefflon Don, Krept and Konan, and Stormzy. Marking a milestone for Lyne, ‘ROYAL’ is a defining track, setting the scene for Lyne as an artist and giving us a preview of the big future, we can expect for her.
