Los Angeles-Amsterdam-based multi-hyphenate Raven Artson explores artistic growth at the edge of ecstasy and thrill. In doing so, he carves out a unique sound that is simultaneously otherworldly as authentically human. Today, the avant-pop riser Raven Artson revisits darker times and unloads his psyche on his latest hard-hitting single, ‘Peak In Me’.
Reinforcing his trademark off-kilter flair and enlisting the omnipotent vocals of long-time friend Ray Fuego, Raven has carved out his place with an authentic, genre-bending R&B-pop fusion, which he dubs ‘slow-motion hyper-pop’.
In the throes of a period where Raven used partying as a means of self-sabotage and temporary bliss, ‘Peak In Me’ documents a turbulent life rocked by uppers and downers, finally resolving to an acceptance of self. About the inspiration behind the track he says, “What I overshared at night, I’d forget when sobered up. It took some processing to realise I was at ease with myself.”
