Bungalow Collect Drop ‘Disco Rap Saved Me Again’

If there were an award for embodying orators of all things disco rap in 2025, I think it could only be granted to Bungalow Collect. The group arose from a Brooklyn apartment: Rshad, Marcus, Apollo J and Zay Suav. Since that happened four years ago, their momentum has snowballed, flourishing into bright syncopations that make you feel alive.

Their purpose is elation: “We want to bring the fun back to rap…the joy, energy, and playfulness that originally made the genre exciting” With the release of their latest full-length, Disco Rap Saved Me Again, this is showcased to be no off-hand remark, romping through seven tracks that not only provide the blueprint for modern disco rap sound, but see the quartet flex their creative muscles with new influences and blends.

Swaggering, groove-soaked storytelling, the stardust of disco, the tender infatuation of R&B and a secret ingredient, the lightest sprinkling of French house. Across the project, Bungalow Collect are defiant and unapologetic, delivering their funk sermon with divine confidence, less an invitation to the dancefloor, more a commandment.

These pulsating beats give Disco Rap Saved Me Again a true physicality; the movement is wired in the heat of a live chemistry and individual excellence you get with a collective as aligned as these four are.

From late-night sessions to national stages to a trio of magnetising releases within the space of twelve months, the ethos hasn’t changed. The band add, “It’s about celebrating, coming together, and remembering that we only get one life to live. So let’s dance, connect, and make it count.”

Where does Bungalow Collect head next? Well, they say, “We want people to remember us as the group that ushered in a new genre—‘disco rap.’” That is undoubtedly a mammoth task, but continuing as they are, one they’re on track to execute.
